excellent quality works like a charm

Fan adjustment speed on wood burner

range adjustable

I installed this control to slow a strong (thus noisy) bathroom exhaust fan. The preset range allowed the fan to slow too much at the bottom end. However the entire range can be adjusted via the small white plastic "range adjustment" screw. So I was able to easily shift the entire range to a higher output so the low end on the white dial knob was no longer "burnout" slow. Turn the knob to turn on - then it ranges from hi to low speed. Minus 1 star as turning on the fan caused to bathroom lights to flicker - not sure why as this did not occur with the old toggle switch. FYI - The switch and its packaging were both marked 3 amp.

Adjustable set screw for small to large fans

Just what I was looking for. Switch has a small set screw for adjustment of small, low load fans, to large ceiling fans. My use case in a small (6”) in wall, between room fan (helps distribute heat and A/C to a room that doesn’t have any) and this is PERFECT. After you install, set the switch to the lowest speed and slowly adjust the set screw until your fan just barely starts spinning. Max will always be max speed on the large dial, but this adjustment helps you really get a lineal 100% attenuation of fan speed. This is loss better than the $26 three speed fan switch I bought at the big box store…

buzz was unacceptable

could not. accep buzzing. used as a dimmer for incandescent ceiling light. recommend trying a different control for fans

Very smooth operation

I was particularly delighted with the color of the rotating knob. Fit the decor of my living room. The switch is very smooth in operation, changing the fan speed with just a touch. My grandchildren enjoy being in charge of the fan speed and are very competitive in in making it go faster-slower-faster. I thinking they are budding engineers. Thanks for this product, hope they will continue to be produced.

Noisy and Poor Speed Control, Poor Packing

I purchased this because the ad indicated it was a quiet fan speed control. Easy to install, has adjustment to "attempt" to control the low speed. Unit make fan extremely noisy and the fan speed adjustment does not control the speed well. It's full speed or off. I returned it and will buy a better control. Packaging from Amazon was also poor. Those cheap envelopes Amazon is using don't protect the product. The plastic around the switch was crushed.

This is NOT a De-Hummer fan control

This is NOT a De-Hummer fan control. It's just a Standard Fan Control. Be aware when you order. Advert bullet states, "No Noise DE Hummers". This (incorrectly) led me to believe that it was a NO Noise De-Hummer. Wrong. Fan sounded like it was going to HUMMMMmmmmm off the ceiling after installation of the control. What the advert should say is, "This is NOT a No Noise De-Hummer". Poor choice of verbiage!!!
