Good for helping with frizz

I have 3a curly hair that tends to get pretty frizzy as the day goes on, so I wanted something to help with calming down the frizz and flyaways on the top of my head. I applied this to my hair while wet and sparingly put some to the top of my head (you only need a small amount) and it didn't leave any white residue and it worked well alongside my regular hair products. The scent is amazing, and it lasts for a while. This gel has a lighter hold than I need, so I mostly use it for frizz and flyaways and use a stronger gel alongside it. Overall, it is definitely a good addition to my hair routine and has helped with keeping my frizz at bay.

This worked way better than expected...

I know they sell Maui Moisture products in all the big box stores, so this is a brand I trust even though I had never used it previously. Upon receipt of the product, I opened the jar to find it very thick in consistency. Like you can tip the jar over and it won't move at all. This didn't make a good impression and I thought, "this is going to be hard and sticky and I won't like it." Yeah, I'm a Nancy Negative. So I got a dime sized chunk on my hand, wondered how it was going to go on my hair without being clumpy, and smoothed my hands together so I would be able to apply it to my hair. Once it was on my hair.... WOW! It absorbed right in to my naturally curly, frizzy locks and instantly gave them shine and took away the frizz. Did I say "Wow?" I just started at my hair in shock and awe. Bottom line: I like this stuff. Anything that adds shine and takes away frizz from my unruly mane of wildness is truly impressive. Plus it has good ingredients. The smell is okay, not too overpowering. This comes at a reasonable price and, even though it's only 3 ounces, I feel like a little goes a long way and it will definitely last a while. I highly recommend this to anyone with curly hair who is looking to add shine and tame the frizz.

Not greasy

I like that it’s not greasy on my edges. Holds my hair in place for a long time.

Pretty good

I currently have my naturally curly, frizzy, hair cut a bit shorter than shoulder length. I’ve been using edge control products lately to add a bit of hold and texture to my hair once it’s dry. It seems to work well to give me a little extra volume. This product does a fairly nice job compared to other products I’ve used. It’s a bit “softer” if that makes sense in that when you dip your fingers in it’s easy to scoop out too much and can leave my hair looking a bit on the greasy side. So be careful of that. This also has a really strong green apple jolly rancher scent lol. If you’re into green apple jolly ranchers this could be a plus. But to me it’s a bit overwhelming and smells like a child’s Halloween candy bag instead of a grown up hair product. Overall, it’s a decent product and does a fine job of what it’s advertised to do. If your on the fence I say it’s worth a shot as long as you are good with green apple scent since it is rather strong and does linger a bit throughout the day. Hope this review was helpful!

Works but the hold is not a strong one

Works great for my 20 month old who is home with me but my 7 year old needs something with a firmer hold as her hair comes undone because she is running around outside at recess

Heavy but lightweight!

I was a bit apprehensive because this product was heavy when I opened it. Like thick not going to move from the container if I hold it upside down. I did take some and warm up on my hands, and it became a consistency I was more used to. I applied it to damp 3C type curls. It absorbed quickly, was not greasy . Left a cast, as expected when it dried, but when I broke them up thru scrunching did not become sticky or flaky.

It smells wonderful and moisturizes.

This smells really nice and it works great on my hair. It does keep my hair moisturized while laying down my edges. Overall, this has really good edge control and no white flakes.
