Plastic handle

I have bought NERF swords in the past for my child and I was a fan of them. If you really swing these swords, they could hurt but overall, you’re not going to be injured other than having a red mark. So kids are usually safe. They’re durable to they can take the car occasional tree impact or be dropped ok the ground a lot. This one has a hard plastic handle which I’m not crazy about. I liked the previous designs better without the hard plastic. The rest of the sword is the usual nerf foam so we will see if the durability remains the same for the handle gets broken. I’m going to guess it won’t last as long as the fully foam swords. The kid still likes it though and for the price, these usually outlast what you paid for them.

Perfect for costume …

Bought for single use costume event for school program … still hitting each other with it months later. Very durable!

Excellent version

These swords are fantastic. Bought two swords and two axes for our 4 boys and everyone was out playing immediately. The foam is tougher to last longer but the plastic hilts protect against tearing the cross-guards (a problem with all-foam swords). My only critique is that the sword is a little loose in the hilt but not enough to be any major problem.
