Pleasantly Surprised

I needed something to help me get access to my storage on the roof of my truck, seeing as I am vertically challenged... and I gave this a try. At first I was like "What in the 'As-Seen-On-TV' kind of gimmick is this???" but now that I've used it about a dozen times I definitely say I got my money's worth. It does feel a liiiitttle unsteady laterally, but as long as you aren't excessively reaching or leaning while standing (which you wouldn't do on a ladder anyways) it feels pretty stout. Saves me doing truck gymnastics trying to get my stuff up and down.

Works great, but did a little damage

Great product and extremely easy to use. Bought it in order to get easy access to box on top of a 2022 suburban. Deducting 1 star because it did cause damage to the door frame. If you reinforce it with some padding I'm sure that won't happen.

If you need one, don't wait! Just get it!!

I had seen these for a couple of years but I was stubborn, jus go ahead and stand on the folded down back seat to access the roof rack...or stand on the edge of the door frame and risk slipping....but I finally broke down and got the Righline Gear door step to access the roof rack and it is a game changer! This thing is super sturdy and has (just) enough room to sorta put both feet on...but it makes accessing the roof rack and Thule Box so much easier and it is much more stable that trying to stand/balance on part of the vehicle frame or folded seat! It is a little more expensive than some of the imported steps but I think this design is much stronger than the others. It is a substantial piece of metal! Just take the plunge and get one so you don't take the "plunge" somewhere out in the woods when you slip and fall off of your vehicle trying to unload the roof rack and end up with a broken bone....

Perfect for a full size suv

This works great for getting up high enough to see inside the ski / cargo rack on top of my Yukon. Makes loading / unloading so much easier.

Should be standard issue with any SUV

Have this for a Mercedes and a Subaru. I can access the car top carrier with ease. I am 5'4" and getting bags in and out of car top box has always been a real challenge. This little step makes all the difference in my being self-reliant. I LOVE IT

Don't buy for use on a Jeep Wrangler.

This is a well made product and a great idea. But the door frame on a Wrangler isn't compatible with this step as outlined in the instruction sheet. They should add that information to the description so others don't have to deal with a return like I had to. Again, don't buy this for your Wrangler.

This thing is amazing

We've only tested it as far as getting up on it. Normally it would be used to load bikes etc., but we haven't done that yet. It's very easy to click into place and feels very sturdy. I can stand with 2 feet it (average size female) and feel very secure. We used to carry a stool around with us but don't need that now. Once we put it into actual use, we'll see if we need 2. Works well on both front and back doors. We've been telling our SUV owner friends about it.

Game changer!

Having a Thule carrier on top of my SUV made it difficult to load/unload. I was always folding my seats and stepping on the seats which was making the fabric on the seats very dirty. A friend told us about this and we bought it right away. It's very well made and was a complete game changer, making it incredibly easy to load and unload Thule. I highly recommend this step, not only is it super easy to use the step is very sturdy and well made.

Ingenious, sturdy, ease of use, very practical, won't damage vehicle

I just returned from a three week adventure to the Yukon, from Vancouver and we tent camped all the way. I used this product every single day, both for loading and offloading the roof rack on my Toyota Sequoia and I really do not know how I coped without it for so many years. This product is a genius invention. I was concerned that the pressure on the vehicle's body would make an indentation or otherwise harm the vehicle, but after three weeks of hard work, no damage and no regrets. I bought the original product, as opposed to aftermarket knock offs, as I support the ingenuity of these manufacturers and I wanted the surety and security of the real deal. Great stuff, well done.

Great for front doors

Unlike the information provided this only works for the front doors of an Audi q5. Very sturdy and makes loading and unloading the kayak much easier, just too bad it doesn't work for back doors as well.
