I found this knock box and it appeared to be the size that I wanted. The reviews here did not give me much confidence, so I just kept looking and looking but returning to this. Ended up buying it anyway. So after a couple of months, here is my review. I like it. I have a 58mm portafilter and I use the knock box as a tamping station. Works good for that. It holds about 5 pucks before I have to dump it. It looks good, feels well built and has a solid base. I have found no issues with the end balls falling off the bar. I have not had any issues with the rubber grommets either. If I do, it is easy enough to get replacements at most any hardware store as would be a replacement rubber tubing covering the bar. Seems like a good product to me and very repairable if it is ever needed.

Good, but not perfect knock box. Lasts and lasts.

This knock box is really good looking, and solid, the rubber base keeps it from moving when knocking grinds out of a portafilter. The design of the knock rod allows it to be easily removed to simplify cleaning the knock box, and it also allows you to replace the rubber on the rod, or the whole rod if needed. Most other knock boxes are one piece and are not designed to be replaced if they fail. As other reviewers have said, there are a couple of issues with this knockbox. the grommets at the end of the rod in the knock box, don't last forever, they can be easily replaced though. The rubber on the knock rod is also not sufficient to keep the filter basket in the portafilter from becoming dented when using the knock box. A better designed rod for the knock box would turn this from a good knock box into a fantastic one. We have had this model of knockbox in our family for roughly ten years. The first one we purchased is still going strong after two coffees every morning. I'm impressed by it's longevity.

This knock box is exactly what I was looking for! Fits perfectly on the counter, and looks great! The higher back design is perfect for not making messes, since my espresso pucks are somewhat watery. I had tried out other brands before finding this one!

Knocked Up and Espresso Crazy.

Great box. Deducted a star because the rubber grommets break immediately and the rubber coating goes soon afterwards. Tips: Fuel hose makes for a great replacement. Extend it from ball to ball (they screw in place) to snugly fit into the notches on the sides. DO NOT put this in the dishwasher. You'll have tiny coffee grinds on all your dishes (they're recirculated with the water). If you must, rinse very well and remove the rubber bottom. In the end, you need something like this to get old grinds out of your thing. This is a good one. Right size.

Effectively blocks spatters. Compact size is nice since I have it tucked away next to my espresso machine at work. Even though I have it sitting on a metal cabinet, the rubber muffles the sound enough to use in an office setting. For reviewers complaining about the rubber and grommets on the knock bar. Just about any hardware store will have suitable tubing and grommets when the time comes to replace it for very little cost. I happened to have some electrical wiring shrink tubing around that was just the right diameter to slip over the bars rubber tube that should offer enough protection to extend the life of the soft rubber. The rubber will eventually wear out, but that's normal. Go to any coffee house and you'll see they've replaced their tubing with a short length of garden hose or fiber reinforced vinyl tubing

Top Notch knockout box.

Very good knockout box. It is top notch, It can hold quite a lot of coffe if like me you forget to empty every time. It is very stable and easy to use. The rubber that it stands in is substantial so there is no movement when you are knocking out the coffee. Really good and highly recommended.
