Entertaining to play as a group

We played this set with 3 people. We liked it because it doesn't have to stay in the permanent collection and can be passed on to other friends to play. It was easy to learn and play. Cons: There were some typos which are easy to fix, but it breaks the immersion. Some of the answer choices at the end were half-baked and some of the individual answers to the multiple choice questions were debatable even with all the answers revealed. Pros: Unique style/system, interesting stories. There were some fun little details for continuity. It was fun to figure out the plot twists and hours after, we are still discussing the case. What we did was for the first game, we semi-cheated and wrote notes. Then we decided that the fun in the game is recalling the details (and memorizing) and sharing the information in the discussion at the end. So even though it doesn't explicitly say no note-taking, it does say "remember". This way also, everyone playing is important because only they have information that could be key to solving the case. Compared to other games, this game is actually more expensive (only 3 hours for $20), but it is unique and enjoyable and you can pass it on to others. I played one case from volume 1 solo and with that I got to Sherlock level. With other people, we got Watson level for all 3 cases, but I think it is more fun to play with other people even if the overall score is lower - and that's assuming the difficulty is the same between volumes.
