Great for handyman, pro mechanic not so much
I love sunex. Have many of their tools and a pinup tool cart. For the money you cant beat this set if you're looking for push button pliers. The quality is not as nice as knipex. Machining is uneven on the jaws so they dont line up and are a little bit loose/sloppy. They do function well. I purchased the set off here at $29.xx which is WELL worth it. When the price for these exceeds 50% of what the knipex set costs, I'd go with the knipex.

Affordable pliers
Great pliers, I haven't used the knipex cobras so I can't say if they're the same equality as them but I think these were great value for the money

Save for knipex
I own a set of knipex pliers. Bought this set and a the maxpower set to compare to my knipex. Between the sunnex and the maxpower, I would go for the sunnex. The quality seemed better. That being said, the knipex blows both a way. My 10" knipex opens further then the 12" sunnex and the knipex has finer adjustments. I would prefer to have just one knipex pliers then this whole set. But for the price, they are useable.

Worth the money
For the price they are great just dont like the pivot play on the small pair. Makes the jaws off set about half way

Great valve you for diy
Purchases these when they were on sale, no knipex but for the price I am very happy with it. Note these are for home use if for professional use I would pay the little more for knipex brand

Everyone needs this in their toolbox!
I have taught myself all I know about plumbing, electrical work, and property maintenance. So my knowledge is based around the tools I grew up with. In some cases, my tool base has grown as I have learned more things I can do with a drill, as I got my first air compressor and tools for that. But for most things I work off the tools I learned with. Pliers, vise grips, adjustable wrench, and one large wrench. I was in the middle of working on a new faucet in the bathroom. I could not tighten the compression joint enough. I am a big guy (6 ft 6) and the bathroom cabinet was not built to house someone of my dimensions. getting to the wire to tighten it was driving me insane. One of the adjustable wrenches would slip its position, setting me back, and getting a good angle appeared impossible. Literally in the middle of this headache, these arrived. And I fell in love with them! I set them and used them. To change the setting, you have to press the button and adjust them. Easy to do, but impossible to do accidentally! You probably know a lot more about tools than I do. But I think you will appreciate these (the fact that you are reading this says you are somewhat interested!) so you do not need to be told what it does. You need the following information These are very strong, no bend no matter how hard you pull. So comfortable, the shape of the handles plus the coating gives a very comfortable grip. They come in a rollup case that is strong, good looking and has two loops of elastic to hold it closed. Easy to adjust. Hard to accidentally adjust. Easy to clean.

Terrific Plier Set - Not Just for Water Pumps
Very happy with the quality of these pliers so far. Even though they're called "water pump pliers," I've used them for so many repairs, not just plumbing related. Anything that calls for a set of pliers that can lock, or get a good grip on any bolt or something you need to remove. If you know what channel lock pliers, pretty much the same thing, except they don't open as wide. The jaws on these pliers really are good at gripping just about anything. I like that the heads are narrow enough that you can get into hard-to-reach areas. Easy to adjust and lock, really tight grip. We live on about nine acres of land cut out of the woods, in the country. There are always things that need fixing on the homestead. Sure enough, we ran into an issue with one of our well water pump motors burning out. It's an old Ruth Berry pump, and these pliers were great. We had to switch out the motor, but also take the bolt off up top to add water and prime it. Took a while to fill, but everything worked out. There seems to be a bit of play (slop) to these compared to some water pump pliers, so that's worth keeping in mind. Also, there's some sort of chemical used in the grips that's possibly cancer-causing. They don't mention what the chemical is (usually some sort of plastic that California will frown on), which makes me a bit uneasy. Either way, just wash your hands well after using these. If you've ever used the Knipex brand before, I'll just say that Knipex makes a better set of pliers. But, you're also spending more money for them. This set is pretty good - for what it costs. If you can afford to drop an extra thirty or forty bucks, then yeah, get a Knipex three-piece set. If you're on a budget, or getting them as a reasonably priced gift for someone, go ahead and get the Sunex.
