Relief for Painful Heels
I struggle with pain in my right heel. I traced it back to worn insoles in my shoes and I have been looking for a solution to ease my discomfort. I had not seen these offered before, and I was hopeful they would resolve my issues. They’ve worked well for me and I have a lot less pain, though I have identified one area for improvement (even if it means increasing the price a little). I will start with this - I tried gel soles and they did not fix my issue. These insoles are cushioned nicely on the heel and add distributed cushion under the whole surface of my foot, not just the heel. My heel is where the problem lies, and the extra padding on the heel has addressed this and brought some relief. I have had these in my shoes not for about a month and they have greatly reduced my heel pain. That said, one thing that I would have made these better is a higher ridge around the heel so that there is some cushioning against the back of my shoe between it and my foot, which would have helped a bit with rubbing on the back of my heel. There are inserts that can be put in of course, but having it as part of the insole (even if it means spending a touch more), would have been very much helpful and convenient. I have been pleased with these insoles. They really do help reduce heel pain, and they are worth their asking price.

Perfect for arch and heel pain
These are easy to trim to size and don’t add too much height making them easy to use. They actually help my feet feel less sore after wearing others without these inserts. They are so good that I’ve ordered 3 sets.

Didn't help my plantar fasciitis one bit -- minimal support
I was excited to have an opportunity to try these insoles, as I have bouts of painful plantar fasciitis and routinely use a variety of over-the-counter orthotics, most of which cost from $35 to $50 a pair. At less than $20 for two pairs, the price on these is attractive -- but this is a case of you get what you pay for, and in this case, you don't get much. As I understand it, to effectively alleviate or minimize plantar fasciitis pain, an insole must provide firm arch support, sufficiently firm to keep the arch from flattening when weight is placed on the foot. These are squishy foam -- although they provide some comfort and have foam in the arch area, it is not firm enough to be of much use. My feet immediately felt better when I replaced these with superior quality inserts. The insoles that I received were 3/4 length -- the heel aligns with the heel of the shoe, and the insole ends under the ball of the foot. I found this to be a little uncomfortable, as the insole moved around a bit underfoot. The package came with two tape dots -- so I used the tape dots to secure one pair of the insoles into my shoes, which helped the sliding around a bit. I found these fit easily into my size 9.5 women's shoes, so I would expect they would seem a little small and narrow in most men's shoes. There was no explanation of why the two pairs of insoles came with just one set of tape dots, and there was little instruction on how to use the tape dots. If your shoes have no padding and you're not used to wearing any type of insoles, these may feel nice and squishy, adding a bit of comfort to your step. But if you are experiencing the pain of plantar fasciitis, don't expect much help from these.

They actually work pretty well
Unlike many of the other reviewers here, the product I received looks similar to the product photo. I did receive two pair of 3/4 length insoles made entirely of foam with a nylon top. I can see someone looking at the product photo and thinking those are gel soles and full length, but the picture is actually what you get. I am surprised by the 'trim to size' instructions as these fit just fine into my size 9.5 boots. They included some tiny glue dots to hold them in place, and I had no problem with the soles moving in the boots. I have a real Plantar Fasciitis issue, and I walk from 20,000-25,000 steps a day in heavy boots. I've found these boots provide awesome ankle support, but the soles did need some help for comfort. The first day or so I found the arches were a little oversupported. By the end of the week, my walking had broken these in and they were quite comfortable. The issue is that these are clearly a cheap product. The foam construction will break down, but because they had a more extreme shape, they break down into a reasonable amount of support. They are a bit disappointing to look at initially, a bit uncomfortable to wear initially, but they actually do provide good Planar Fasciitis support if you give them a chance. I am using both sets and they are remarkably consistent in how they've performed. I am quite sure I will be throwing them away in a few months and I can see why Profoot suggests using these with your existing insoles to maximize their life. These aren't a super-awesome value, but they aren't actually bad either if you really give them a shot. It's hard to give them more than three stars simply because of the price, but there's a good chance I buy another set in a few months.
